Date Night

So my friend, Ashlee and her boyfriend Jeff were making a trip to Tri-Cities from Seattle and our house is on the way - so they decided to stop by and see our house on Friday night. They stayed for dinner and it was nice getting to catch up and talk with other adults! And the kids loved it too!

Then on Saturday night Brad and I drove down to Tri-Cities and went out to dinner with them and then hung out at Ashlee's brother's house afterwards. It was nice to go out to dinner again and nice to not have to pick up food off the floor, think of things to do to keep the kids busy - you know, what usually happens at a dinner with adults - great conversation, drinking, etc. Sorry that was a really long sentence.

After dinner, which probably lasted 2.5 hours!! Yikes. We headed to Chad's house and played ping pong - oh, the good old days. It was so refreshing to have a night "out on the town" without the kiddos and be with friends. Grandma and Grandpa watched the kids, and they did great. We didn't end up leaving Chad's until 10pm!!! I know, I know. It was a really late night for the kids and I felt a little guilty for keeping them up so late, but it was only one night - and they did fine the next day as well. We didn't get home until midnight, but the kids fell asleep instantly in the car and it was a quite ride home. We probably would have stayed the night in Tri-Cities, if Maddie was a little older. She still sleeps in her crib - so maybe next year :)

So here's a toast to good friends, great date night, and to having babysitters!
